SCITTs ON APOLOGETICS  SPECIFICALLY FOR A CREATOR AND CHRISTIANITY {TOC  here} We start (1), with a handful of Individual Apologists (even if they sometimes go by a  corporate or entity name), who are highly regarded in this field and with whom we already have some connection. Of course, there are many other great apologists, and you can contact us for a list. After that (2), we list several SCITTs (organizations) active in Apologetics. Some of these may also get into several other issues, and we try to note that. As a result, some of these may also be cross-referenced in other Sets (Squares), and Subsets on this site.

1. Individual Apologists 

Craig, William Lane (Reasonable Faith) Dr. Craig is a visiting Scholar of Philosophy at Talbot School of Theology and Professor of Philosophy at Houston Christian University. An author and/or editor of over 30 books, Dr. Craig offers numerous articles, podcasts, blogs, and videos on his website focusing on apologetics within a philosophical framework.  Of particular interest is his work regarding God as the foundation of morality. C.S. Lewis [See Subset (2), next] Kupisz, Peter (Worldview Summit) (CAN) Peter Kupisz is an international Christian apologist from Canada who has taught at universities in California and South Korea. He currently gives talks on apologetics in countries around the world, including Canada, South Korea, Indonesia, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Brazil. Of particular interest are his short blogs on Ethics and Social Issues, which cover a wide range of modern-day issues and worldview friction points. His approach is great both for youth and adults.  Hawkins, Craig (Apologetics Information Ministry (AIM)) (US) Dr. Hawkins has compiled a wide range of apologetics material. As part of the teaching faculty at Trinity Law School (CA), he also offers a wealth of information, from a biblical Christian worldview on our General interests (in Law, Justice, Government), and in our 10 Specific Issues (contact him directly for the same). Lennox, John (UK) John Lennox, Ph.D., is Professor of Mathematics at Oxford University and a Christian apologist with Masters and Doctorate degrees in math, philosophy, and bioethics. He is an accomplished author, researcher, and speaks at lectures in Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia. John’s website hosts a large number of videos from various lectures and debates, covering topics as varied as mathematics, ethics, suffering, and the meaning of life. He is one of the best thinkers and debaters on Creation in the world today. Turek, Frank (Cross-Examined.org) (US) Dr. Frank Turek is the President of Cross-Examined.org, his apologetics organization. He is co-author with Norman Geisler of the book, I Don’t Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist. Dr Turek conducts seminars at school and college campuses around the US and internationally. His organization also provides a number of online courses, articles, blogs, videos, books and other resources, in English and Spanish, centered around Christian apologetics. 1. Apologetics SCITTs

Answers in Genesis (AG) (US, International) General (Apologetics, Education, Science, Youth); 10 Specific Issues (Marriage & Family, Life, Religious, Similar Liberties) About: “Answers in Genesis is an apologetics ministry, dedicated to helping Christians defend their faith and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ effectively. We focus on providing answers to questions about the Bible—particularly the book of Genesis—regarding key issues such as creation, evolution, science, and the age of the earth.” (from its website; emphasis changed). Ken Ham is one of AG’s inaugural leaders. AG sponsored the famous Creation Museum, and  Ark Encounter (a life-size replica and exhibition of Noah’s Ark). Our View: It’s a good site for some basics of a biblical Christian worldview for Creation, and a Creator, as well as on many important cultural apologetics issues (i.e., LGBTQ+, importance of life, etc.).  AG subscribes to a literal six-days (as we know them) Creation account (however, not all great Apologists do so). C.S. Lewis Institute (US, International) General (Apologetics, Spiritual Growth); 10 Specific Issues (Marriage & Family) About: “In the legacy of C.S. Lewis, we develop wholehearted disciples of Jesus Christ who articulate, defend, share, and live their faith in personal and public life.” “Check out our Publications, including Podcasts, Quarterly Teachings, Monthly Newsletter, Must Reads, Study Courses, Small Group Resources, Mentor Training Resources, C.S. Lewis Life and Works, and CSLI Author Book List, all searchable by topic.” (quotations from website; links and emphasis added)  Our View:   CSLI has a heavy focus on discipleship and growth, and on the bigger questions of life in worldview studies (we don’t suppose you will find a lot here directly on politics, but more on biblical truth). Strong on Apologetics, with a special podcast, Side B Stories. Since they have a wide range of quality resources, it’s definitely worth spending some time here. They also have 1 and 2 year CSLI Fellows study programs, and many seminars and events, and some international activities, also.  Key Resources: See above Discovery Institute (DI)  (US, International) General (Apologetics, Intelligent Design, Artificial Intelligence, Science, Economics Theology, Media, Education); 10 Specific Issues (Life, Marriage & Family, Religious, Similar Liberties, Poor & Needy, Sustainable Development); Soft,  Hard Advocacy (especially for Educational freedom in schools, teaching ID and Creation Science; and solving the Homeless Crisis) About:  Discovery Institute is . . .  focused on research, education, action, and cultural renewal. . . [I]t brings together a growing global network of scholars, scientists, and policy experts. [DI] investigates the life-changing possibilities of a universe brimming with information and intelligent design. It [explores] how science and technology can advance free markets, propel new discoveries, illuminate public policy, and support human dignity and the . . . foundations of a free society. The Institute sponsors research in the sciences, humanities, and public policy. It [has] conferences, seminars, and educational programs for [all ages].” (from its website)  Our View: This is a world class organization of scientists and thought leaders on Creation and Intelligent Design (and on the implicitly-related topics above). Scholars and speakers include Drs. Stephen Meyer, Michael Behe, and several others. Although not stereotyped as a Christian organization, many of its scholars and thinkers are (but the focus is on Intelligent Design of the Universe and life, as a scientific inquiry, along with the related topics, above). Speakers, like those mentioned, are known around the world and are highly interviewed. Information ranges from very technical scientific scholarship to materials that break things down for the average listener.  Key Resources:  In General: Just about everything is here, including Scholarly Journals, News Journal Articles and Blogs, Books {lots of theirs}, Podcasts, Videos {including interviews}, and more. It seems to cater largely to younger audiences with its Mind Games Camp, activities, and research. Also, while claiming to be international, the concentration is clearly, predominantly US. Key Resources: Newsletter: Up Periscope (an e-newsletter focusing on walking with Christ). Podcasts (Radio): It has several kinds, and is famous for its short radio programs; see Head and Heart (a podcast covering several good topics for this new generation) Books: Probe has a good Store with about 20 or so fine book(lets) for sale, on topics such as evolution, critical race theory, Islam, government, economics, and so on; it also has a free Kerby Anderson Booklets series, on similar and more topics. Scholarly Research Studies, Reports (Culture): Probe conducts several surveys and reports on religious trends, and has a separate Blog page dedicated to research on cultural trends and values in the US (by Steve Cable) Staff Blogs: This is well indexed, with sermons, some from others, and even a collection of available Teaching PowerPoint Presentations that anyone can use.  Videos: Several for teaching in subjects like Social Justice, Transgenderism; they also have a DVD series on cultural changes, and the Redeeming Culture videos are very good.   Ratio Christi (US, International) General (Apologetics, Cultural, Social Issues) 10 Specific Issues (Life, Marriage & Family, Religious, Similar Liberties) [See also in Universities/Students SCITTs, Subset (3), Inter-Univ. SCITTs, Student Ministries] About:  “Ratio Christi (Latin for ‘The Reason of Christ’) is a global movement that equips university students and faculty to give historical, philosophical, and scientific reasons for following Jesus Christ. Bringing together faith and reason to establish the intellectual voice of Christ in the University, Ratio Christi is planting student and faculty-led apologetics clubs at universities around the world.” Their vision is exciting: “Thoughtful Christianity – Transforming Lives on Campus Today. Changing Culture Tomorrow” (all quotes from the website)  Our View:  They are planting university clubs internationally, like no one else, to equip students to defend the Christian faith and change their cultures for Christ. A vitally important ministry for students and educators alike. A key focus is developing campus clubs and networks for students and educators. Key Resources: In general, RC collates its resources into 5+ groups, for Professors, Pastors, Parents, Students (even in high school), and Apologists, and this involves mixed media of Videos, Books/Publications, Blogs, News, and sometimes even Legal Assistance or other advice. It has a special section on Apologetics Training for Faith and Science. Books (Publications): Two sources: (1) RC has multiple, free E-books/Publications available for downloading, on various topics of interest, including cultural apologetics, same-sex relationships v. Scripture, human rights, women’s rights, critical theory and social justice, lawsuits, socialism v. capitalism, etc.; (2) plus, similarly themed publications (booklets) also available in its “store” RC Press (with a free-checkout process), in either ePub or PDF formats [ed. note: some titles are the same as titles in the first link; a free ordering process is required for this second set]  Videos: Thoughtful Christianity: A dynamic series of videos on YouTube covering a range of apologetics-focused topics, including cultural apologetics (i.e., social-legal issues), and more. Blog: featuring News, events, and short, topical Articles Stand to Reason (US, International) [See INDEPENDENT SCITTs, Subset (1)] Summit Ministries (US, Youth) General (Apologetics); 10 Specific Issues (Life, Marriage & Family) About:  “Summit Ministries is an educational Christian ministry whose ultimate goal supersedes simply training. As Christians are challenged to stand strong in their faith and defend truth, they will also be equipped to have a positive influence on the society in which they live.” (from its website)  Our View:  It’s another well-known site with excellent worldview-related resources, focusing on Apologetics including on social and cultural issues, and biblical justice, yet it caters specifically to students in high school and Gen Z. It also is largely for an American audience. That said, they have a strong resource library, online: Key Resources: Resource Library: This is a vibrant worldview library, with Articles – either as blogs, or short research pieces – (including some recent good ones, on subjects like Justice and other things we care about), combined with various Videos, and Podcasts  (it’s a multimedia collection, and  some of its resources actually come from other SCITTs we also feature).  Books:  From either its Store, or its separate Books page; the  Summit Worldview Library is a solid resource reflecting over half a century’s work in the field (3 volumes, for sale); other books, and DVDs are also available for purchase on its site; the Store is worth viewing as it features other authors as well as Summit’s own, in a wide collection of great subjects.  Other: Curriculum (available for all age categories); Reflects (a selection of pop culture commentaries). The Truth Project (from Focus on the Family (FOF)) (US, International) General (Apologetics) This is an excellent resource for small groups to use as they investigate the truth-claims of Christ together. A very rich apologetics curriculum to impact culture (materials must be purchased). This site can also connect you to all the other resources of Focus on the Family [See INDEPENDENT SCITTs, Subset (2), Single/Specific-Issue(s)]. The Veritas Forum (US, International) General (Apologetics, Science, Education, Philosophy) [See also Universities/Students SCITTs, Subset (3) Inter-Univ. SCITTs, Student Ministries] This group does more than apologetics, but certainly that. Veritas Forums are university events that engage students and faculty in discussions about life’s hardest questions and the relevance of Jesus Christ to all of life.  Since starting in 1992, “200+ universities in North America, Europe, and Asia have hosted 2,000+ Forum events.” Veritas Forum has a fantastic collection of forum Videos, and Podcasts on its site, capturing subjects such as apologetics, faith, and reason, and others in its pursuit of Truth. It also has a bimonthly Newsletter.
