Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. (1 Cor 6: 19-20)
If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.(1 Cor. 3:17)
No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. (Eph 5:29 NLT)
BIBLICAL CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW
In 1 Corinthians, the Bible states that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are to honor God with our bodies. It also mentions that God’s people (His Church) is collectively God’s temple, and states if anyone destroys God’s temple, God will judge and destroy them. Unfortunately, in our current world, very powerful health companies and government health bureaucracies have sometimes suppressed valuable information for treating diseases, misrepresenting facts and research. Health companies, research institutes, and government agencies have sometimes colluded and spun health care narratives that are false, misleading, or incomplete for financial gain or political control.
Advocacy here seeks sharing true information about health issues, and holds accountable those who suppress treatment, responses, and other information, out of ignorance or for some kind of financial or political gain.
It also seeks to help the poor and needy gain Access to Health Care, which is too costly for too many people globally to afford. But Access to Health Care is really similar to Access to Justice, in terms of restoring a true human loss, and is a justice work. Many medical ministries have emerged, leveraging technology and other resources, to help the poor obtain medical and health services they need. We shine a light on a few good ones here.
